PETALING JAYA: The body is tired but shuttler Cheah Liek Hou continues with his winning ways.
On Saturday, Liek Hou lifted his 13th successive title after defeating Taiwan's Fang Jen-yu 22-20, 21-15 in the men's SU5 singles final of the Thailand Para Badminton International in Bangkok.
He had beaten the same player in the semi-finals en route to emerging as the Paralympic champion in Tokyo last year."I'll take a short break before returning to prepare for the world championships in Tokyo in November. It will give me two months to be ready."The victory is a gift for Malaysia as we celebrate Merdeka Day this month," he added.
Liek Hou also won the doubles title with Mohd Faris Ahmad Azri while Malaysia also made it a triple joy when Mohd Ikhwan Ramli bagged the men's WH1 singles title after beating Jeong Jae-gun of South Korea 21-23, 21-16, 21-19.
