Liberal veteran organization VoteVets released an ad on Tuesday targeting Sen. Tommy Tuberville's (R-AL) military blockade, which he began in March to protest the Pentagon reimbursing service members who travel across state lines to receive abortions.
Tuberville's blockade is holding up more than 300 military promotions and has led to criticisms from Democrats and some Republicans who say the protest threatens national security. The 30-second"Tight lips could sink ships" ad is airing on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News and is part of a nearly $150,000 ad buy. The ad slams Tuberville's"un-American assault on our military" before focusing on the global impact the protest could have.
