A federal appeals court has ruled against a Massachusetts eighth-grader whose school forbade him from wearing a T-shirt with the message 'There Are Only Two Genders' -- a decision he is likely to further appeal.
Liam Morrison, an eighth-grader at Nichols Middle School in Middleborough, Massachusetts, wears the T-shirt banned by his school after oral argument in his lawsuit before the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Feb. 8, 2024. judgment about what would make ’an environment conducive to learning’ at NMS to us rather than to the educators closest to the scene.”Liam’s motion for a temporary injunction in June 2023.
Liam’s next steps include asking for an en banc hearing before the 1st Circuit or filing for Supreme Court review.
