Re: “‘Watch your fire, I got him down’ — Officer’s video shows him breathlessly running toward gunfire, killing gunman,” Thursday news story.I have watched this video three times. Each view brought tears to my eyes. The Allen officer was unbelievably calm, on a mission and executed his duty to protect and serve unselfishly, perfectly.
The Feeding America organization reports on its website that more than 34 million people, including 9 million children, in the United States are food insecure, that 53 million people turned to food programs in 2021, and 100% of U.S. counties have food insecurity. In a country that wastes billions of pounds of food each year, it’s shocking that anyone in America goes hungry.
We’re seeing nothing less than a concerted effort to replace public, nonpartisan institutions with tax-funded systems dedicated to a particular ideology. This is undemocratic.
