Maybe, rather than pitting lab against land, developments in both can help fill in the gaps while society learns how to stop over-consuming.Re: “Well-Played, SMU — Research project aims to make learning active, joyful and meaningful in local school districts,” July 29 editorial. There is a bigger opportunity for high school students to learn and be involved when it comes to elections. I have volunteered for the past couple of years with Denton County and Lewisville ISD to recruit student election clerks. It’s a great way to earn money, learn about our elections process and help voters, and it looks great on a resume.
I think it would be a great project for student councils across the state. Training is online, and that one day’s work is rewarding.Advertisement
