For almost four years, task force after task force has studied how to regulate and register short-term rentals to no avail. Meanwhile residents must tolerate noxious behavior and a constant stream of strangers in a neighborhood meant to provide a safe haven for children.
Evans’ op-ed was interesting, insightful and thought-provoking. This subject seems to be everywhere lately, but I don’t know that most people understand the whole picture on gender transitioning. Evans does, and more people need to hear what she and other experts have to say. She’s not from the U.S., but I don’t think that matters. The subject matter transcends borders.
I found it ironic that these two stories were put side by side. The first bill will allow for schools to have the Ten Commandments on view in classrooms and require time for prayer and Bible reading for students, with Dan Patrick thinking that this will create better Texans. They no longer seem to care about equity and safety of all the citizens in their districts. I’m thinking those signs hanging in our schools should read, “In Guns We Trust.”Irving residents are faced with an opportunity that will positively impact our community. The average age of facilities in the Irving ISD is 47 years. The school bond proposes to replace three buildings from the 1950s and renovate the remaining schools.
