Letter: 'Money now thrown at our legislators has turned them from statesmen to greedy politicians that are bought and paid for by their donors and will do anything to support them, to hell with their constituents.'

Since the passing of Citizens United, which allows for unlimited campaign financing by corporations or special interest groups, politics has gone down the toilet. The ads are disgusting, not required to prove their claims, tell all the lies they want and stoke fear or anger of the voters. Money now thrown at our legislators has turned them from statesmen to greedy politicians that are bought and paid for by their donors and will do anything to support them, to hell with their constituents.

This now applies to all levels of government, it started at the federal level, but now is at the state level and making its way to the county and city levels. Notice most of the bills brought forward in the state Legislature are written by businesses or special interest groups, not by the representatives or senators that sign onto the bills.

If you think the federal legislators are ineffective or are fed up with the current law or power grabs by our state legislators, don’t vote the incumbents back in, make a change. Please.
