“They have given feedback to us that the panthal operators were happy to cooperate and even willing to buy the biodegradable containers themselves although these are a bit more costly than the plastic ones,” he said.“I am happy to see some positive results from our awareness campaigns. “Although there are still some who bring along bags to collect food, I saw many people limiting themselves to only one or two packs of free food at the stalls.
Smart Modular Technologies stall assistant chairman P. Durkanantheni, 27, said they used recycled material to serve 1,500 packs of food for breakfast and lunch at the stall this year.“To avoid any wastage this year, we gave out only one pack per person unless they request for more.
