Anyone can submit a request to challenge a book in Leon Valley. Before Tuesday's vote, the request went before the library’s board of trustees and then to Reed for a final decision. Now, these decisions will go from the board to the City Council.The American Library Association said it tracked an unprecedented four-fold increase in efforts to ban books last year.
