The scrum-half will miss the beginning of Leinster's Champions Cup campaign.
Leinster's Luke McGrath is set to miss up to eight weeks of action after suffering a knee ligament injury.
The injury will see the scrum-half miss a number of key games in the run-up to Christmas including Leinster's home clash with Munster on November 26th and an away day in Connacht the following week.McGrath could also miss the opening two games of Leinster's Champions Cup campaign including a clash with La Rochelle, who have beaten Leinster in the last two finals.
