LeBron James has begun on-court activity for the first time since Feb. 26, when he injured his right foot in the second half of the Lakers’ win over Dallas.
Anthony Davis scored 27 points, D’Angelo Russell added 26 and Austin Reaves finished with 25 as the Lakers held off the Phoenix Suns 122-111 at Crypto.com Arena.Earlier this week, coach Darvin Ham said the Lakers “anticipate him coming back at some point.”
The hope remains that James will be able to return before the end of the regular season, with the Lakers’ final three regular-season games being played in Los Angeles. Yet James posted on Twitter “there wasn’t an evaluation today and there hasn’t been any target date for my return. I’m just working around the clock, every day to give myself to best chance of coming back full strength whenever that is.”
