JERUSALEM - Israel unleashed its most widespread wave of airstrikes against hundreds of Hezbollah targets on Sept 23, in airstrikes which Lebanese health authorities said killed at least 182 people, making it the deadliest day in Lebanon in nearly a year of conflict.in almost a year of conflict, as Israel shifts its focus to its northern border, from where Iran-backed Hezbollah has been firing rockets into Israel in support of its ally Hamas.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X that so far, more than 300 Hezbollah targets have been struck after earlier warnings that airstrikes on houses in Lebanon, in which “Hezbollah hid weapons” were imminent.Another round of attacks was expected. Israeli aircraft are preparing to attack Hezbollah strategic weapons stashed in houses in Lebanon’s Bekaa valley, the Israeli military spokesperson said, calling on civilians to evacuate immediately.

Hezbollah said 16 members of the group were among the dead, including senior leader Ibrahim Aqil and another commander Ahmed Wahbi. Lebanon’s Information Minister Ziad Makary said his ministry had received a call ordering the building to be evacuated but said the ministry would do no such thing. “This is a psychological war,” he told Reuters.

“Israel wants to strike, it wants to keep going, meaning it is squeezing Sayyed Hassan to start a war.
