BEIRUT - The Lebanese presidency said it delayed consultations to designate a new prime minister until Thursday in response a request from caretaker Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, who had been expected to be named premier again. The delay to the consultations, which had been due to take place on Monday, was to allow for “more consultation on the subject of the government formation”, the presidency said on its Twitter feed.
