Law enforcement searching for missing Oklahoma four-year-old
Athena Brownfield was reported missing around 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cyril, Oklahoma, after a postal carrier discovered her 5-year-old sister by herself. The carrier reported finding the unattended sister to the Cyril Police Department and learned that Athena was missing, according to authorities."This is a very active and ongoing investigation, and right now our top priority is locating her. And sorting out who’s responsible will come next.
Brownfield has limited verbal skills, Arbeitman added. She can speak but is extremely shy. Initial reports claimed that Brownfield was 3 years old, but it was later confirmed that she is 4.The FBI, Caddo County Sheriff's Office, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are also assisting in the search. Hundreds of members of the public have helped in the search as well.
"The whole town has been out. We've also used dog teams and infrared," Lt. Michael Francis with the state bureau told KOCO.
