Although Jenkins was the clear frontrunner for his party’s nomination throughout the primary campaign, all of the challengers in the county judge race said they were runningDavis spoke out against both Jenkins’ and Flores’ approaches to public health measures. “I am so proud to have run a campaign full of fight, truth, and common-sense values that will take Dallas County away from the grasp of big government and towards freedom for families and businesses,” Davis said in a prepared statement late Tuesday. “With all of my business experience, and throughout all of the struggles our family has conquered in the last year, I’m more than ready to lead all of us as your next Dallas County judge.
Davis’ campaign as an outsider drew consternation and controversy within the party, including from Koch., although Davis and her lawyer maintained that she is eligible to run for the office. In a press conference Tuesday evening, Jenkins addressed those residency concerns and said that Dallas County Republicans have “chosen an anti-vaxxer... over an immunologist.” Jenkins also tried to convince Dallas County Republican voters to vote for him instead this fall.
“Those candidates just do not get elected in Dallas County in the Republican primary anymore,” Jenkins said. “I hope you’ll consider joining our big tent in the Democratic Party.”
