In a statement to the court, the woman sexually assaulted by the former NRL player said people talk about the horrible, private incident “like they were there”.
The woman sexually assaulted by former NRL player Jarryd Hayne says her life has been a “never-ending nightmare” and that, after three trials, she has not been able to move on or find peace.
In an updated victim impact statement, read to the court by Crown prosecutor John Sfinas, the now 30-year-old victim said: “I still don’t know how to put any of this into words.” “After going through the first and second trials, I was hoping this would all be over, and I could finally try and move on with my life,” the woman said. She said each time she feels she is starting to recover mentally, something new will arise such as a court date, and she relives “the same trauma over and over”.

‘Dan’s useful idiot’ John Pesutto and his ‘bully boys’ may succeed in expelling Moira DeemingSky News host Rita Panahi says it appears over the weekend the “blood lust” for punishing female conservatives has dimmed slightly, and the “witch hunt” will just be focused on Moira Deeming from the Victorian Liberal Party. Ms Panahi said Victorian Opposition Leader John Pesutto had opted to be “Dan’s useful idiot” and launched into a “hysterical attack” against Ms Deeming, accusing her of being connected to Nazis and white supremacists. “Now, he's going to have another shot at expelling Moira Deeming and this time, he and his bully boys may succeed,” Ms Panahi said. “The party seems determined to lurch even further left, to become even more unelectable. “By attacking women like Moira Deeming, Renee Heath, Bev McArthur, they’re sending a clear message to their members and the wider Victorian community that they have a problem with women, and they are weak, unprincipled and not a viable alternative.”
