Non-bank lender Latitude says a “sophisticated, well-organised and malicious cyberattack” remains active inside its systems, and it is not taking on any new customers after being forced to isolate some of its technology platforms.

“I sincerely apologise to our customers and partners for the distress and inconvenience this criminal act has caused. I understand fully the wider concern that this cyberattack has created within the community,” Latitude chief executive Ahmed Fahour said. He is due to depart Latitude next month.“While we continue to deliver transactional services, some functionality has been affected, resulting in disruption.

“Time will tell if we’ll likely see the exfiltrated data appear on any ransomware shaming websites,” he said.from one technology vendor and used them to log into two other service providers to steal customer files and ID documents.
