Organizers on Monday handed out kits that contained two doses of Narcan, gloves, masks and information on how to administer the drug.
distribution and training event was held at York City Hall on Tuesday. This will be the last distribution event of the year.The program started back in 2021, and Samantha Zahm, deputy director of the York Bureau of Health, said increasing access to Narcan could help slow down the opioid crisis in the community.
Since Tuesday was the last distribution event of the year, Zahn wanted to remind the community that individuals can still receive Narcan online or by delivery.. The service allows Narcan to be shipped directly to a home with guidance and a training video on how to recognize an overdose, respond and administer the Narcan.
