GEORGE TOWN : Lapan individu termasuk seorang wanita ditahan bagi membantu siasatan berhubung kes seorang lelaki warga Pakistan yang ditikam hingga mati dalam kejadian di Pulau Tikus di sini, semalam.

Pemangku Ketua Polis Daerah Timur Laut, Superintenden Lee Swee Sake berkata, mereka ditahan di sekitar lokasi kejadian iaitu di kawasan Pulau Tikus.

“Kesemua tangkapan yang berusia antara 22 hingga 58 tahun itu telah dibawa ke mahkamah untuk mendapatkan perintah reman pagi ini bagi membantu siasatan. “Pada masa yang sama, polis juga masih memburu suspek utama kes ini,” katanya ketika dihubungi di sini, hari ini. Terdahulu, seorang lelaki warga Pakistan maut selepas dipercayai ditikam dengan menggunakan pemutar skru dalam kejadian kira-kira pukul 5 petang semalam di Pulau Tikus.

Difahamkan, mangsa yang berusia 48 tahun itu telah dibawa oleh rakannya ke sebuah klinik swasta di Jalan Datuk Keramat, untuk mendapatkan rawatan dan mangsa bagaimanapun meninggal dunia ketika menerima rawatan berkenaan.
