VIENTIANE: Laos has reported no new case of Covid-19 (coronavirus) for 21 consecutive days, with the total number of confirmed cases unchanged at 19.
Laos Deputy Minister of Health Phouthone Meaungpak told a press conference on Sunday that the total number of Covid-19 in Laos remained at 19, as no new case was confirmed.
The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control announced it had been monitoring 639 people at 147 accommodation centers across the country along with 400 people self-isolating at home. As of Sunday, Laos tested 2,184 suspected cases with 19 cases tested positive, and nine patients have recovered.
The nine patients, who have recovered, included six cases in Lao capital Vientiane and three cases in Luang Prabang province. Another 10 infected cases are treated in designated hospital -- Mittaphab Hospital in Lao capital Vientiane.Article type: free
