IPOH: Several areas in Taiping are experiencing a water shortage due to a landslide that occurred near a treatment plant.
Perak Water Board general manager Datuk Mohd Yusof Mohd Isa said the landslide happened Friday near the Trong Water Treatment Plant.Mohd Yusof said the whole of Trong, Changkat Jering, Bukit Gantang, Bukit Berapit, Changkat Ibol and nearby areas have been affected.
“LAP has taken the necessary steps to repair the pipe , and to rezone water supply from the Air Terjun treatment plant to consumers. “This will help areas such as Trong town get water supply, but about 2,300 households in Changkat Ibol, Bukit Gantang, Kampung Kubu and Kampung Pauh will still experience water disruptions,” he said in a statement Saturday .He said affected residents would be provided with clean water using water tanks.
