Damian Lillard had 40 points, including eight 3-pointers, to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 127-115 victory over the LeBron-less Lakers on Monday.

Lakers star LeBron James will miss Monday’s game at Portland because of left ankle soreness, but he is expected back Wednesday against the Pelicans. Not with the Lakers unable to stop Portland from drilling three-pointer after three-pointer. The Trail Blazers shot 48.9% from beyond the three-point arc, going 23 for 47.

“Anytime you get to step on the floor and have an opportunity to get a win, I think you have to take every game seriously and value the opportunity, especially with this new collection of players, the way we are currently,” Ham said. The last of the new Lakers to speak with the media was Mo Bamba, the 7-foot center who was acquired from the Orlando Magic for guard Patrick Beverley, doing so Monday before the game.

Because James and Davis are so good, Bamba believes the transition to playing with them will be easy. He also has had ties with Russell, Rui Hachi-“So, there’s continuity there as far as familiarity,” Bamba said. “Obviously, it’s different when you get on the court, but I don’t think it will be too much of a challenge.”Now that the scoring record is his, there is no doubt that LeBron James is the greatest player in NBA history.
