THE Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas called on the lay people on Friday, October 13, 2023, to pray for peace in the Holy Land, which is currently known as Israel and Palestine, two states that are currently mired in hostilities.In a statement, Laiko called on all Catholic lay organizations to join them in praying for peace to reign in the Holy Land.
We, the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, appeal to our brothers and sisters in the diocesan councils of the laity, ecclesiastical communities, national lay organizations, and all Catholic lay people, to join us in praying for peace in the Holy Land, it added.The lay organization said its call is in response to an earlier appeal of Pope Francis to all the faithful.We join all believers as we pray with one heart and one soul with Pope Francis, it said.
