: The Labuan Health Department is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the over 2,000 new students coming to the Labuan Matriculation College here are free from Covid-19.

“There is no change to our checks. Even people from Labuan or those working and residing on the island who travel out for more than three days are subject to the swab test,” he toldTwo people, one of them a student, who returned to the island from mainland Sabah yesterday tested positive for Covid-19.

Labuan Matriculation College director Mohd Idris Omar said 2,014 of the 2, 860 students of the institution are in the new intake.“We have made early arrangements at the students’ hostels and classrooms. Students from high-risk areas on the mainland or with mild flu will be segregated from the students who are healthy and from no- and low-risk areas,” he said.
