Kuala Lumpur has been ranked among the world's top 10 cities for high English proficiency in the 2024 Education First (EF) English Proficiency Index (EPI). Malaysia also holds the 26th spot globally, with a slight decline in score compared to last year. The survey evaluates the English language proficiency of 2.1 million non-native English speakers aged 18 and over across 116 countries and regions.
Kuala Lumpur is ranked among the world’s top 10 city capitals for high English proficiency, according to the world’s largest survey of adult English skills.
In the 2024 edition, Malaysia once again places itself among the top three countries in Asia , with Singapore ranking first, followed by the Philippines. For the sixth consecutive year, the Netherlands retains the top spot, with Norway in second place and Singapore third.
