A six-year plan is under way for the construction of a new MPKL headquarters at a new location in Kota Seri Langat.
“MPKL’s plan for the development of its new headquarters is expected to take six years between 2021 and 2027, starting from the development planning phase until construction phase,” said Selangor local government, public transportation and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han on Tuesday .
“An application letter to gazette it as government land for the construction of MPKL’s new headquarters was submitted to the Kuala Langat PDT on May 31.”“MPKL is currently in the final stages of preparing a concept plan for its new headquarters. Based on this plan, the building will be able to accommodate 1,200 people, after taking into account the projected staff increase over the next 30 years.
“MPKL will also place its technical department staffers at the Kuala Langat PDT’s old premises in Telok Datok,” he said. “MPKL secured a RM40mil loan from the state government to construct a new building for its headquarters back in 2018. The new building was supposed to be built at MPKL’s existing headquarters location,” he said.
