KTM has started selling tickets for its special 'Edisi Penang' train service, offering a trip from Butterworth, Malaysia, to Hat Yai, Thailand. The train will operate from December 29th to January 5th.
KTM has opened online sales for its MySawasdee ‘Edisi Penang’ train tickets. This Penang edition of the popular MySawasdee train rides to Thailand takes one from Butterworth on the mainland to Hat Yai, a popular destination for Malaysians seeking a short break. The train from Butterworth will make stops at Bukit Mertajam, Sungai Petani, Alor Setar, Arau and Padang Besar.
Immigration will happen at Padang Besar, where all passengers will have to exit the train for passport checks before continuing the journey to Hat Yai. For the return trip from the southern Thai city to Malaysia, all passengers are to disembark at Padang Besar along with their luggage for immigration and customs inspection. The fare is RM45 per seat one way, and there will be no children fares or concession tickets. The KTM MySawasdee ‘Edisi Penang’ train from Butterworth to Hat Yai and back will be running from December 29 to January 5.
