The Kremlin spokesperson and his wife are both hospitalized with the novel coronavirus.
Russia reportedly has 2,116 deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus and seen 45,512 recoveries, according to the country's coronavirus tracker. There have been over 5.8 million tests performed in the country thus far.
"Starting from tomorrow, May 12, the national period of non-working days will be over for all sectors of the economy," Putin said in an address to the nation. The president also said that as businesses begin to reopen, citizens"must not allow... a new wave of the epidemic and the growth of serious complications."
