[Trigger Warning: Suicide] Haesoo, a South Korean trot singer, has passed away at 29 years old. The singer was found dead in her home, with what is assumed to be a suicide note, authorities told Korean media. | HMallorcaINQ
“Haesoo was a warm person who knew how to give love, especially to those around her, spread affection, and knew how to receive it. Her bereaved family, as well as her acquaintances and co-workers, are mourning the deceased with broken hearts,” it continued.
Trot, a type of Korean music, is particularly favored by the elderly population. Its name is derived from the word “foxtrot,” which contributed two-beat components to the genre. Trot is recognized for its lively pace, repetitive rhythm, and distinctive vocal modulations. Haesoo’s funeral will be held privately, according to her family’s wishes. Her representative also requested to refrain from spreading speculations and false reports about her death, in hopes of her family wanting to mourn in peace.
Born as Kim A-ra in 1993, Haesoo made her debut as a trot singer-songwriter in 2019. Among her final appearances include Korean show “Immortal Song” in January 2023.
