The Sabah Government Employees Cooperative Society Berhad (Kopeks) will become the first such in Sabah to operate a hotel business if things go as planned.
Efforts are afoot to expand the Kopeks business segment by opening and operating budget hotels around the city and Putatan, in addition to the insurance business. Kopeks Chairman Jaibit Jaudin said the paperwork for the hotel business has started and the matter would be brought to the Kopeks annual meeting in June for approval.
