Hidup yang baru! itulah gambaran kata yang menjiwai diri para belia yang memberikan hidup yang baru di dalam Kristus.

Komuniti Shalom diasaskan di Fortaleza, Brazil, pada tahun 1982 oleh Moysés Louro de Azevedo Filho dan Maria Emmir Oquendo Nogueira, untuk menggalakkan kaum muda menjadi agen perubahan dan keamanan, mengikuti teladan Yesus. Antara perwakilan Komuniti Shalom yang datang ke Malaysia ialah Rainara Barbosa Dos Santos, seorang misionari yang bertugas di pejabat antarabangsa penyebaran sektor karisma dan Diakon Francisco Tiago Soares yang bertugas sebagai ketua pejabat antarabangsa untuk Komuniti Katolik Shalom.

Di Keuskupan Agung KL, komuniti ini juga mempunyai perwakilan iaitu Sham Lorenzo Ruiz dan Kathysia Kerol yang merupakan ahli kumpulan “Alive In Christ” yang adalah cabang daripada Komuniti Katolik Shalom.
