KL is safe, says task force set-up following Jalan Masjid India sinkhole

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Taylor Fritz believes his U.S. Open title clash against Jannik Sinner on Sunday will be less stressful than his encounter with fellow American Frances Tiafoe as he will be the underdog when he meets the world number one.

It added that the Masjid India Land Structural Task Force found that the sinkhole that claimed the life of a 48-year-old Indian national in August was caused by several factors such as human activities, weather and erosion of reclaimed land below the surface.

"Generally the ministry is saying that Kuala Lumpur is safe, but certain monitoring aspects and procedures were needed for investigations to be conducted on the building structures below the surface," said the ministry in a statement on Saturday . This said the ministry will complete the existing information on Kuala Lumpur obtained through the 3DKL project.
