If you're a fan of mobile devices, chances are you might have more than a few of them lying around. Some might just be old, while others no longer work. Some of us tend to hoard these items because we don't know how to deal with them. But now, KKD wants to remind Malaysians to recycle.
According to Bernama, Teo Nie Ching has called for the Malaysian public to recycle their old or broken gadgets. The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Communications and Digital Malaysia said that an estimated 364 million e-waste are produced in Malaysia annually. It's why KKD has a green initiative called Kitar, which aims to reduce e-waste.
Specifically, the minister said Malaysians can recycle or dispose of their unwanted gadgets at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's e-waste collection centres. The e-waste will be forwarded to contractors for material extraction or proper disposal to reduce carbon footprint.
