KOTA KINABALU: An attempt to break into a house in Luyang here has been captured on camera, with footage going viral on social media and messaging apps on Monday (Aug 22).
In footage of the incident, said to have taken place at 3am in Taman Jindo here, a masked man wearing dark-coloured clothes is seen walking up to the gate and moving it to the side to create a small opening and coolly walks into the compound.They immediately yell at the man, who then dashes towards the gate to escape.However, the suspect manages to break free and escapes in a waiting pick-up truck, which is said to have been stolen.
Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaidi Abdullah confirmed that the houseowner had lodged a report over the break-in attempt. He said the police are identifying the suspects involved and were investigating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing a robbery.
