YANG di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah conveyed his congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the latter’s re-election as Turkish president. In a post on Istana Negara’s Facebook page, His Majesty said he hopes Malaysia and Turkey can continue to work closely to bring progress and prosperity to the people of both countries.On Sunday, Erdogan won a decisive election by defeating his challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu.Last year, Turkey was Malaysia’s largest trading partner and export destination, as well as the sixth-largest import source among West Asian countries. – Bernama, May 30, 2023.
