Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA) announced her husband of 41 years, Kevin Reynolds, has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Hawkeye State governor said she is"optimistic" about her husband's ability to recover from the diagnosis thanks to advanced treatments in a statement on Thursday.“We’re grateful to the incredible medical team caring for Kevin. Our doctor has assured us that significant advancements in lung cancer treatment have been very effective and we have every reason to be optimistic," Kim Reynolds said.
Gov. Ron DeSantis , an ally of the Iowa governor, shared his support for her and her husband by saying he and his wife, Casey, know"firsthand" how difficult cancer diagnoses can be, referring to his wife's battle with breast cancer.
