Keuntungan Petronas naik 2% pada suku pertama

Kumpulan itu mencatatkan EBITDA sebanyak RM38.6 bilion, lebih rendah sebanyak RM1.8 bilion disebabkan oleh kos produk yang lebih tinggi serta perbelanjaan mengurus yang sebahagiannya diketepikan oleh peningkatan hasil yang agak memberangsangkan. Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz berkata, Petronas akan kekal berhati-hati, memberi tumpuan kepada pengurusan kewangan berhemah termasuk membuat pelaburan bagi mengukuhkan perniagaan terasnya dan mengembangkan portfolio perniagaannya.
Capex domestik bertambah sebanyak 44% berbanding tempoh yang sama tahun sebelum ini terutamanya untuk pelaburan dalam projek gas asli cecair terapung berhampiran pesisir Petronas di Sabah dan pembangunan medan gas Kasawari di Sarawak. Bagi bahagian huluan, PAT untuk suku pertama 2023 adalah RM12.5 bilion, meningkat RM600 juta disebabkan oleh pertambahan dalam hasil yang sebahagiannya diimbangi oleh kos produk yang lebih tinggi, manakala perolehan bagi suku pertama 2023 mencecah RM35.9 bilion, menokok RM1.1 bilion jika dibandingkan dengan suku pertama 2022.
Ini disebabkan oleh lonjakan dalam pengeluaran gas daripada operasi Malaysia, ditambah pula dengan pengeluaran minyak mentah yang lebih tinggi daripada operasi antarabangsa tetapi ini sebahagiannya diimbangi oleh kondensat dan pengeluaran gas asli yang kurang memberangsangkan daripada operasi antarabangsa.
