KENINGAU: The district’s crime index recorded an increase with 76 cases in the first six months, this year, compared to 66 in the same period last year, said District Police Chief, Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai here.
He said during that period, violent crime increased by three cases to 19, compared to 16, last year, while property crime also increased by seven cases to 57, compared to 50, last year. Daily Express Malaysia
“The achievement of 106.67 per cent is very good in terms of solving all cases this year compared to last year’s solution rate of only 78.79 per cent,” he at the District Police Headquarters Monthly Assembly here. Yampil said a total of 57 investigation papers had been opened by the Commercial Crime Division until May this year involving fraud under Section 420 of the Penal Code and Breach of Trust involving a loss of RM946,478.33 with the arrest of 19 suspects involved.
