KELANTAN STATE GOVERNMENT ACHIEVE BUDGET SURPLUS IN 2022. Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd. Nassuruddin Daud said the state government managed to turn its budget from a deficit of RM178.49 million to a surplus of RM10.92 million by the end of last year. He attributed this success to prudent and strategic fiscal management . The state government is committed to achieving a balanced budget in the coming years through diversification of new revenue sources and prudent expenditure control.

Nassuruddin also highlighted the increase in Kelantan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to RM27.6 billion in 2023. He expressed hope that the Ministry of Economy will extend the Kelantan Special Incentive Package through the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) for this year. The package includes a 100% income tax exemption for 15 years and a special rate of 17% for the next five years. The Menteri Besar also urged the 13th Malaysia Plan to consider strategic investments in the manufacturing sector to boost productivity and rakyat's income. He emphasized the importance of efficient infrastructure, irrigation and drainage systems, and clean water supply to support investment and development in the state
