KUALA LUMPUR: Federal minister Salahuddin Ayub today denied that giving cash handouts to fishermen in Tanjung Piai constitutes a breach of election laws, saying promises to the people can be fulfilled at any time.

“As a minister, if I go to Tanjung Piai and tell them to vote for Pakatan Harapan , that is corruption. But as a minister, I am fulfilling what was promised by Farid.He was replying to Ahmad Maslan , who had asked if it was an election offence to give cash handouts to the fishermen during the campaign period.
