The incumbent state government in Kedah has received praise for its stable and effective administration. PAS Commissioner, Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, argues that there is no compelling reason for Kedah residents to change the government, highlighting its track record of progress. He cautions PH and BN against focusing on Kedah while struggling to secure their position at the federal level.

The incumbent state government in Kedah has demonstrated a stable and commendable performance in administering the state. Datuk Ahmad Yahaya, the Commissioner of PAS Kedah , stated that there is no reason for the people of the state to change the government that has proven effective in bringing progress. He emphasized that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) should be cautious about the lifespan of the federal administration.

'The federal government is not necessarily safe for PH and BN, they are already in a panic about Kedah as well, I am worried that chasing after something they can't get will only lead to losses,' he said in an interview with Utusan Malaysia. Ahmad Yahaya, who is also the Chief of PAS Ulama Council, commented on the statement by the PH Kedah Chairman, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who claimed that PH together with BN are actively preparing themselves as the 'waiting government' in Kedah ahead of the next state election (PRN). Saifuddin, who was recently appointed to the position, stated that PH and BN have also discussed in a recent meeting to position themselves as credible and effective opposition. Perikatan Nasional (PN) controls 33 out of the 36 state legislative assembly (DUN) seats in Kedah, with a large majority contributed by PAS. Among the seats won by the coalition are Ayer Hitam, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Jitra, Kuala Nerang, Pedu, Bukit Lada, Bukit Pinang, Alor Mengkudu, Anak Bukit, Pengkalan Kundor, Sungai Limau, Guar Chempedak, and Gurun. PN also won Belantek, Jeneri, Bayu, Kupang, Kuala Ketil, Merbau Pulas, Kulim, Bandar Baharu, Ayer Hangat, Kuah, and Suka Menanti, while PH only won in Kota Darul Aman, Bakar Arang, and Sidam. This victory allowed PN, led by PAS alongside Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan), to continue leading the state administration under the leadership of Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md. Nor
