PETALING JAYA: It’s going to be another tough climb back to their best for Kedah when the movement control order (MCO) is lifted, so coach Aidil Sharin is already eyeing friendlies to ease his players to competitive mode.

The MCO, which began on March 18, has been extended three times to May 12 now, taking the M-League’s suspension into its ninth week and leaving the players without proper football training.

And Aidil, who is currently observing the circuit breaker measures implemented in Singapore, is worried about starting all over again after this long MCO break. The 42-year-old said he makes video calls to his players every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to discuss their daily training, and with the coaching staff on every other day, to discuss their plans for after the MCO.

“If the MCO duration is extended further, then we will go to plan B, where our fitness coach will increase the frequency of training sessions.”
