The Kedah police chief, Datuk Fisol Salleh, has called on the public to report any modified vehicles they see in an effort to curb illegal racing and street gangs ('mat rempit'). He emphasized that this unethical activity requires a collaborative approach, urging citizens to photograph and share images of altered cars, motorcycles, or even bicycles with modifications like 'sotong' tires, removed brakes, and modified carburetors. Police will then track down the owners and take action.
