THE Kedah government has agreed to declare February 5 an occasional holiday in conjunction with Thaipusam. Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, in a statement today, said the decision was made at a state executive council meeting held on January 18. “This is to enable the Hindu community in the state to celebrate the religious event with their families.
“As for those not celebrating, we hope it will provide them with the best possible benefit considering the day falls on a Sunday ,” he said. – Bernama, January 24, 2023.
