Leonard missed the final eight games of the regular season due to lingering inflammation in his right knee.“It’s tough for him, but he’s getting better,” Lue said. “He’s progressing. He’s been on the court the last couple of days. We’ll see, but he’s frustrated, as he should be.
Leonard, who led the Clippers in scoring with 23.7 points per game, is part of a dynamic scoring duo that also includes George. Lue said “we haven’t gotten that far yet” when asked if the Clippers’ medical staff has an idea if Leonard will be able to participate in contact drills this week, which raises more questions about his availability for the remainder of the series.Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said his team prepared for both possibilities dependent on Leonard’s availability.
