The Duchess of Cambridge was pictured leaving Kensington Palace on Thursday – the day she celebrated her 38th birthday
January 09, 2020 - 16:37 GMT Danielle Stacey The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted arriving with her youngest child Prince Louis at Kensington Palace on Thursday – the day of her 38th birthday. Kate, wearing an olive green jacket, was pictured in the driving seat as she returned to her London residence in the wake of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's announcement that they are stepping back from royal duties. One-year-old Louis could be seen in the back seat wearing a navy hooded coat.
The mother-of-three is expected to spend her birthday in private with her husband Prince William and her children. While Kate's eldest kids Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, returned to school at Thomas's Battersea on Tuesday, her youngest child Louis is likely to have been at home with her during the day.

They will also host a reception, on behalf of the Queen, at Buckingham Palace to mark the UK-Africa Investment Summit on Monday 20 January.
The Queen and the Prince of Wales also posted birthday messages to the Duchess on their social media channels, both including gorgeous throwback photos of Kate. Prince Harry and Meghan commented on Kensington Palace's new snap of their sister-in-law, writing:"Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge today!"
