Mahomes’ gift back to alma-mater pushes fundraising efforts to $115 million for the newly renovated South End Zone and Womble Football Center project.Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes during an NFL preseason football game against the Cleveland Browns Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, in Kansas City, Mo. Texas Tech Athletics announced that Mahomes provided a $5 million gift to the athletic program in support of “the historic Campaign for Fearless Champions,” a program that was created to revamp Tech’s athletic facilities.“When we first launched this campaign, Patrick was only a freshman and now it is fitting that we approach the end of the campaign with a gift of his own,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “We couldn’t be prouder to announce this gift from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
The gift is not the only significant contribution that Mahomes has given to Texas Tech as Mahomes played a major role in“There isn’t a greater ambassador for Texas Tech Athletics than Patrick Mahomes,” head coach Joey McGuire said. “He is arguably the best brand in sports, not only for his success on the field but for what he and his family do off it.
