Jutaan penduduk di Bangladesh dan India terjejas akibat banjir itu

SYLHET, Bangladesh: Ribut yang diakibatkan musim monsun di Bangladesh dan India mencetuskan banjir besar, menyaksikan sekurang-kurangnya 59 orang terkorban dan jutaan yang lain terjejas.

Banyak sekolah turut dijadikan pusat perlindungan sementara selepas sejumlah rumah musnah dihanyutkan arus banjir yang deras. Seorang lagi penduduk, Asma Akter memberitahu, banjir besar yang berlaku menyebabkan keluarganya menanggung kelaparan selama dua hari, selain berdepan cuaca sejuk.“Dalam keadaan begitu, bagaimana kami boleh masak?,” Soalnya.Negara ini turut dilanda fenomena petir yang setakat ini meragut sekurang-kurangnya 21 nyawa sejak Jumaat lalu.Ketiga-tiga mangsa itu disambar petir di pekan Nandail.

Ketua Menteri Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma memberitahu media, semua pihak dikerah supaya menghulurkan bantuan sewarjarnya kepada penduduk terjejas dalam kadar segera.Dalam pada itu, situasi banjir di Bangladesh dilaporkan semakin teruk sejak semalam apabila hujan lebat terus turun, termasuk di wilayah Sylhet.
