MCA bagaimanapun kurang yakin dengan kerjasama rasmi Umno-PAS apabila Presidennya, Wee Ka Siong enggan mengulas mengenai perkembangan terbaru itu.
Pemimpin Umno dan PAS bergambar bersama selepas mesyuarat untuk merasmikan hubungan kedua-dua parti itu, semalam.
Katanya, kerjasama itu bukan perkara baru kerana DAP dan PKR juga adalah sekutu kepada parti Melayu dan Islam seperti PPBM serta Amanah. Kelmarin, MIC dan MCA mengugut akan meninggalkan BN kerana tidak puas hati dengan kenyataan Setiausaha Agung BN, Nazri Aziz yang berbaur “perkauman”. Vigneswaran dan Presiden MCA, Wee Ka Siong dilaporkan berkata, mereka tidak lagi yakin BN komited kepada konsep pelbagai kaum dan satu mesyuarat peringkat tertinggi perlu diadakan untuk meneroka “pakatan baru”.
