KUALA LUMPUR: The formulation of a comprehensive semiconductor plan is timely for Malaysia to secure a position at the forefront of the global supply chain, according to InvestPenang chief executive officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah ’s month-long Tadau Kaamatan celebrations kicked off in Ranau, nestled in the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, on Wednesday.

The festival was launched with the symbolic cutting of padi stalks and beating of the gong seven times by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, representing Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. “This is because Sabah currently only has a 22.8% SSL, still dependent on rice supplies from external sources or imports. At the same time, uncertain weather conditions greatly affect agricultural yields, including in this state.
